On December 15, 2022, DMB Fit Crew Partnered with Friends of the Columbia Gorge by putting up a matching Big Give Day donation up to $1400. With a chance at a Cotopaxi Allpa Travel Pack Backpack stuffed with gifts as extra motivation, we raised a total of $3345 in just one day! We were so happy to wrap up a year of impact with this event.
In December of 2022 we came together with Ryoko Suzuki - Holistic Healing and Wellness of Nashville, TN to enjoy a 3-Week Stress Buster Challenge. A group of Fit Crew members followed Ryoko's lead as we practices spinal alignment poses and guided breathwork with DMB tunes soothing us in the background. Ryoko chose the W.O. Smth Music School as our beneficiary and shared so many special gifts with us, including inspiration to start a #trastagDMB movement!
November 2022 was an exciting month as we partnered with Chickapig on our Farm-To-Fit 5k, a virtual walk/run over Thanksgiving weekend. We challenged each other and showed that good good love through lots of DMB and Chickapig fun. Fit Crew participants earned lots of 5k swag and some special gifts from Chickapig!
This partnership helped us raise $440.35 for the Florida Farm Bureau Fund for Hurricane Ian Recovery for Agriculture, supporting farmers and ranchers in Florida who were devastated by Ian.
In October 2022 we focused our goals on our #DDTW FundRACE to End Violence Against Indigenous Women. We worked individually and on teams to raise awareness of this issue, learn more about justice for indigenous peoples, and focus our creative and wellness activities outside ourselves toward the greater good. With the help of Scott James and a portion of the sales of his DMB inspired posters, we raised $565 to give to Native Hope in support of missing and murdered indigenous women and their relatives.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, giving us the opportunity to raise awareness while amassing funds for a deserving organization. Our #BeAlexisStrong Virtual Challenge was all about following Dave's lead by lifting Alexis Padgett up with love and honoring her strength. She chose GROW Central Florida as the beneficiary of the funds raised by our challenge fee. All raised $1282.23 by challenging ourselves to be physically active at least 41 minutes everyday, dedicating our workouts to Alexis. Our donation helped GROW reach their NYC Marathon team fundraising goal as well!
Our #GoForTheGorge22 challenges raised $2800 to give in support of conservation and preservation of the place we love to go! The total amount has been broken into a 2022 donation and a reserved fund to ensure a donation in 2023. Our #GoForTheGorge Challenge will continue with the goal of an annual contribution to maintain Giving Circle status as Conservators of the Gorge. You did this, FIT CREW! Next time we visit the Gorge we'll know we are on the team of the people working to protect it.
